The role

The Collab Designer & Developer drives the creative and technical execution of Db’s collaboration and partnership products. This role translates Senior Designer input into commercially viable, technically sound, and on-brand products. Working from brief through production approval, the position combines approx. 30% hands-on design (under the lead of a Senior Designer) and 70% detailed development work (including structured workflow management). It plays a key part in ensuring collab products meet quality, aesthetic, functional, and margin requirements while maintaining clear documentation and reliable cross-functional alignment. 

Work tasks 

Collab Projects 

  • Design and develop collab products from brief to customer handover. 
  • Create logo placement concepts, visual mockups, and embellishment files for customer approval and vendor execution. 
  • Develop sketches, BOMs, and complete instructions for vendors. 
  • Ensure alignment with partner feedback, design standards, and commercial requirements. 
  • Business travel to factories and collab partners is mandatory 

Design Execution 

  • Produce sketches and color-ups. 
  • Collaborate with Senior Designers to ensure quality of design expression and brand consistency. 
  • Prepare clear and visually compelling materials for internal and partner presentations.  

Technical & Development Support 

  • Work with Product Developers to validate construction feasibility, durability, and supplier execution. 
  • Lead sample reviews and integrate feedback into design updates and PLM documentation.   

Inline Design Support 

  • Maintain sketches, color-ups, and other design updates for inline styles when required, under Senior Designers’ guidance. 
  • Populate PLM with sketch and BOM updates. 
  • Contribute to smaller or ad-hoc design tasks depending on seasonal needs. 

Key competences 

  • Strong sketching and visualization skills (Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop preferred). 
  • Understanding of packs & bags construction, materials, and manufacturing constraints. 
  • Ability to balance creative direction with commercial and technical feasibility. 
  • Proficiency in PLM (Centric preferred) and structured documentation workflows. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 1-3 years of design & development experience in bags, luggage, accessories, or technical apparel. 
  • Experience designing products from concept to pre-production. 
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. 
  • Experience in 3D (e.g. CLO, Browzwear) is a plus. 
  • Experience preparing tech packs including vendor instructions. 
  • PLM experience (Centric preferred) and familiarity with vendor-facing design workflows.
