Jr. Product Developer
The Jr. Product Developer strongly contributes in the Product & ESG department, and ensures the highest level of quality and structured execution of all products participating on from concept through to pre-production sample approval. Your scope will extend across all product categories at Db (mainly packs, bags, and accessories) and all project types (inline, collabs, partnerships, and SMUs). You develop together with a mentor outstanding products and tech packs and collaborate with our key suppliers to ensure that production complies with our ambitious quality requirements while meeting our design intent, cost targets, and exceeding our sustainability standards.
Fields of responsibility under the supervision of a mentor:
- Execute the development of your products from design handover to pre-production approval, meeting time, cost, and quality expectations.
- Be the direct point of contact between Db and our finished goods suppliers, securing clear and timely communication.
- Contribute to the commercial viability of designs and meet profitability targets through collaboration with our suppliers and internal teams.
- Monitor suppliers to ensure timely deliveries during the sampling process.
- Ensure that all samples exceed our quality standards in close collaboration with our suppliers.
- Ensure the best construction and technical solutions for use, durability, and aesthetics.
- When relevant, adjust patterns or create mock-ups in-house to verify technical feasibility or improve construction.
Work tasks under the supervision of a mentor:
- Create and maintain technical specifications in our PLM system (including but not limited to technical drawings, BOM, product master data).
- Address construction, manufacturing, sustainability, and cost constraints as needed.
- Review and comment on all phases of development samples and present change requests during our weekly product evaluation sessions, with the support of Designers.
- Analyze Cost Breakdown Sheets to ensure that price targets are achievable while protecting our margin, design intent, and feature set.
- Contribute to smaller or ad-hoc development tasks depending on seasonal needs.
- Work closely together within the Product & ESG team – being fully supportive and transparent on all relevant tasks at hand.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years relevant education
- Experience of working in PLM systems, Centric Software is a plus
- Experience of working in Adobe Illustrator or similar tools
- Knowledge of a 3D CAD system is a plus, but not mandatory

Structure:
- This position reports to the Head of Development and Sourcing
- This position is not a managerial position
- Remote work arrangements are limited to 1 day a week
- Business travel is mandatory and includes (but is not limited to) at least 2 development trips of 2 weeks each to Asia.
